It's 4:49am currently in London. Sleeping patterns are really warped over here. So here goes...Writing on this space keeps me sane. Visited the Victoria and Albert Museum on Thursday. One must not be fooled by the exterior of this red and gold plated roof building. It was pretty much like the opposite of a dollhouse. Small as it seems but stepping in felt like an entirely different place. Every turn encompass a different section covering arts and cultural aspects of London History. If you are the philosophical geek, this is the place. ;) Being privileged as a student in Conde Nast College, we got to tour this place for free. *Thankful* (Well, maybe not because a lot of research has to be done for our first project meh :<)

Fret not for those who worry that lunch is gonna be an issue. V&A provides an array of food ranging from hot meals, sandwiches, patisserie and a cafe corner with really good coffee. Books and Caffeine. <3

Every item in this museum were coded with a code and the year that it came from. Some staged all the way back to the 80's and 70's. We were split into groups and the task was to pick three of your favorite items out of the entire museum. Well, here's mine. The first was this red doll. I wished i could tell you its history but i was really busy being captivated by its dress. That on runway, with a pair of Louboutins is to die for. (I'm very much a tutu fan :D)
Then there's the cerulean vases with the olden days english women encrypted delicately on it. Simply love the patterns and details in craftsmanship.
Then there was the golden carriage. Every girl's dream. Loving the details of the red curtains within the carriage and also the angelic water colored figures painted on the exterior.
Much of the museum's interior decor were really creative in a sense that you get to see a certain aspect in a different perspective. Like this one right here. I'm bad with my knowledge in musical instruments so if you were from the band, you would identify some of this squashed bass metal materials hung from strings attached half way down the ceiling. Let the rest of the other pictures do the talking.I was snapping away like a tourist. What you will see here are a few of my favorites.Do visit the museum as it packs a great load of good history and educational knowledge. The national library was really much of a prick though. One of the strictest library i have ever been but i really quite enjoyed being surrounded by British Librarians who were a little over the top of being what they are best at. (if you know what i mean)

We managed to catch Club to Catwalk as well. I possibly walked through the 80's in 80 minutes.Love it. A little part of my inner childhood fantasy was relived and fulfilled when i walk down the aisles and corridors of this exhibition. Amazing fashion the 80's had. Everything really started back then. The music, the scene and the culture. As much as fashion progresses on digital prints now, looking more exquisite and flamboyant, nothing can be compared to the 80's catwalk and its fashion scene. There were Christian Dior, Balenciaga, Chanel, Emilio Pucci, Mary Quaint and Alexander McQueen etc.

My day ended with Balenciaga in the Library. I'm really glad i chose him to write about. I have always loved Balenciaga. He's a true master. To me a designer's designer. Really Hoping i will ace this assignment well. A good start always paves the way..i hope. <3

Till the next time, Signing off...
The White Rabbit. xoxo
